Set Aside Your Eyeglasses
At Total Vision in Terra Nova, we think everyone looks great in eyeglasses. But that doesn’t stop us from dreaming about freedom! If you’ve been wondering what the world looks like beyond the lens, it may be time to consider laser eye surgery.
Laser eye surgery could be your next step towards a lens-free life, but it is vital to note that not every prescription is a candidate for the procedure. Determining which procedure will work best for your vision is as easy as booking a consultation with our team!
Consultations & Co-Management
The Laser Eye Surgery Consultation
Your laser eye surgery consultation consists of a comprehensive eye exam, where we will look for eye conditions that can affect the results of your surgery, like:
- Chronic dry eyes
- Frequent eye infections
- Eye diseases
- Diabetes
- Overly large pupils
If you’re a candidate for surgery, your doctor will want to go over the risks of laser procedures and your outcome expectations.
It’s vital to note that although many patients achieve 20/20 or 20/40 vision after the operation, there’s a possibility you may still require glasses or contact lenses.
After the consultation, our optometrists will refer you to one of our trusted ophthalmologists for your surgery.
The Co-Management Process
After your surgery, you’ll be scheduled routine appointments at Total Vision in Terra Nova to help improve your recovery. You’ll be in great hands as we provide comfort through the healing process.
Many laser eye surgery procedures have expected side effects. But you’ll have a team of experts by your side as you recover.
Side effects may include:
- Discomfort
- Sensitivity to light
- Blurred Vision
- Dry eyes
These side effects are a normal part of recovery. However, please call us if any of the above conditions escalate.
LASIK Eye Surgery
LASIK surgery is a common eye procedure, and it’s often used to correct myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
During the surgery, your ophthalmologist uses numbing drops to prepare your eyes and make you comfortable. They’ll then make a small incision in the top layer of your cornea. This incision creates a small “flap” that folds over so your surgeon can access the underlying corneal tissue. They then use a preprogrammed laser to reshape your cornea to the desired prescription.

Laser eye surgery can be a significant lifestyle change, and there are some steps to consider before and after your procedure. You can expect Total Visoin in Terra Nova to stay by your side from beginning to end.
